A New Season for Love!
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.” Psalms 139: 13-15
It’s fall y’all. This cute pumpkin 🎃 made my heart smile this morning. While getting her dressed she said “Ooooooh I’m cute!” This simple statement is told to her in some way everyday by her teachers at school as well as her daddy and I. I love that her teachers not only teach and take care of her basic needs but they show her so much love and they teach her how to love herself. I love that her teachers at church tell her constantly how much Jesus loves her. I love that she wakes up feeling good because of all these factors.
I think we get it wrong in life. We live life with the mindset that it’s not ok to feel good about ourselves. That some how loving your self makes you conceited. However, God loves you! God created you! Even in all our flaws he loves us You can continue working on your hang ups while still loving you. If you are one who struggles loving yourself I encourage you to dig deeper in His word. I promise it’s filled with verses of Gods love for you. Here is one of my favorites…
“For the Lord your God is living among you.
He is a mighty savior.
He will take delight in you with gladness.
With his love, he will calm all your fears.
He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” Zephaniah 3:17
It’s ok to feel good about yourself. It’s ok to wake up and like what you see. It’s ok to love yourself and enjoy being in your own skin. You can love yourself without being conceited or full of pride.
I like what Joyce Myers has to say on this subject,
“Liking yourself doesn’t mean you’re full of pride; it simply means you accept yourself as the person God created you to be. “
In Matthew 22:39 we are told to love our neighbor as ourself.
“…love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:39
If we can’t love ourselves how will we ever be able to truly love others?
It’s fall y’all. It’s a new season. It’s another chance to see yourself as the wonderful person God created you to be. It’s a new opportunity to love yourself. Let’s make this season count.
