Ellie is a little jokester in our house. She has been ever since she was really little. She loves to laugh but more importantly she loves to make others laugh. Naturally, when she saw this camera she wanted to play tricks on a few people. I bet she felt like the greatest clown when she would say “I’ll take your picture” but instead press the button that made bubbles fly out. My dad was one who got covered in bubbles and his smile was so big. He loved it and together they shared a laugh and huge smile. A smile brings so much joy and creates memories. There are days when finding a way to make someone smile should be our goal. I had a coworker once who was so cranky. She was older and you could just tell her spirit was defeated and she was not the most joyful person to be around. My goal everyday was to make her smile. If I could just make her smile once then I had accomplished something great. I did one day make her not just smile but she laughed and I can’t for the life of me remember how. How doesn’t matter though. I’ll never forget that smile and joy on her face even if it was just for a few moments. There are many people in our lives right now who need a reason to smile. Who can you make smile today?
“A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.” Proverbs 17:22 NLT
